Training CoursesOur EOD training is guided by CWA 15464:2005 - Humanitarian Mine Action - EOD Competency Standards (5 parts) which provides guidance on the competencies needed for EOD levels 1, 2 and 3 and is designed to enhance the process of planning and evaluating EOD operators development and capacity building. Mine Awareness CourseIt is essential to ensure that all personnel, working or living in an area that is suspected of or confirmed as having landmine and UXO contamination, are fully aware of the dangers and of the procedures to ensure the safest possible working environment. Personnel scheduled to undertaking reconstruction and development projects, commercial exploration operations in a contaminated environment should all attend this course. The Mine Awareness course is a multi-period course of instruction, which can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the humanitarian or commercial organisation. Battle Area Clearance CourseThe Battle Area Clearance Course is a one week course of instruction for personnel who have not previously attended a course of instruction, or to introduce military de-miners into the process and procedures of humanitarian BAC and or Military Range Clearance. Basic De-mining CourseThe Basic De-mining Course is a three-week course of instruction for personnel who have not previously attended a course of instruction, or to introduce military de-miners into the process and procedures of humanitarian de-mining. The basic de-mining course is designed to teach students the basic skills, techniques and procedures of mine clearance in order that they can operate as part of a de-mining team. Military de-miners could also attend, or a specially modified course could be prepared which would build on their knowledge and experience of many of the de-mining requirements. Basic EOD Operator Course (IMAS LEVEL1-2)The Basic EOD Course is a five-week course of instruction for personnel who have successfully attended a Basic De-miners Course and have been specially selected as suitable for more specialists training. Advanced EOD Operator Course (IMAS LEVEL 3)The Advanced EOD Course is a three-week course of instruction for personnel who have successfully attended a Basic EOD Operators Course and/or Basic De-miners Course that have been specially selected as suitable for more specialists training. A Level 3 (EOD) qualification enables the holder to conduct render-safe procedures and final disposal of any type of explosive ordnance on which the individual has been trained. Team Leaders and Supervisors CourseMine and UXO clearance operations require technical and capable management in order to plan and implement the operational clearance activities, safely, to a define quality standard, productively and effectively. This two week course is designed to provide Team Leaders and/or supervisors and specially selected personnel into undertaking the responsibilities of a Team Leader or Supervisor. The course will cover task planning, preparation, implementation and management and provide technical information on the management of explosives, ordnance detection and identification, neutralisation or destruction, securitymeasures, accident response, handling and transportation. Train the Trainer CourseA course to train experienced deminers and UXO personnel to undertake the task of training instructor. The course will take 10 days. The quality of the training reflects in many cases on the quality of the instruction, and it is therefore necessary to ensure that the facilities and the instructors meet the highest possible standards. Selection to attend this course should not be merely on the skill of the de-miner, but on his leadership and instructional capability. Monitors and Inspectors CourseQuality Assurance is one of the most important aspects of modern military and commercial work, ensuring that a formally agreed standard is met by all departments involved in the work process. The three-week Monitors and Inspectors course is designed to teach experienced and mature team leaders, or in special cases de-miners, the QA and QC process and inspection procedures. A part of the course syllabus will deal with accident investigation, as many inspectors may also be utilised by the national authorities to undertake accident investigation. Medical TrainingField medics have been proven to have the biggest impact on survivability for those injured or acutely ill in remote locations. The ability to provide initial support and co-ordination of evacuation to further medical support, not only in the golden hour but in the platinum ten minutes after injury, is of paramount importance. The two week course structure is primarily based on providing the student with the fundamental skills required to manage a casualty in a remote/challenging environment. Facilities at EOD Solutions CentreThe facilities of the EOD Solutions Centre is modern with an African Lodge atmosphere that enables the student to focus on the course contents, but also allows for good relaxation during leisure times. The management and staff of the EOD Solutions Centre endeavours to ensure the student’s training experience at the facility, is professional and enjoyable, though affordable.
